From Saturday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec. 6, firefighters responded to blazes in Southbridge and West Boylston.

In both cases, mutual aid responded, including firefighters from Holden, Dudley, and Boylston.

SOUTHBRIDGE

The fast-spreading fire broke out sometime around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6, the town’s Fire Department said.

The three-alarm fire was at 15 Dennison Lane, a residential structure.

The flames spread quickly due to there being 2 venting 20 lb. propane cylinders involved in the fire, firefighters said.

No injuries were reported.

In addition to Southbridge firefighters, representatives from other departments were on scene or otherwise providing assistance including Dudley.

A GoFundMe has been started by neighbor Kim Patraw for the man living in the Southbridge home. According to the registry of deeds, the residence is owned by David Dupuis and Jeanette Dupuis.

WEST BOYLSTON

The cause of a Saturday, Dec. 5, fire at 65 Briarwood Cr. in West Boylston is unknown at this time, firefighters said.

A report of an automatic fire alarm activation on Briarwood sent firefighters to the neighborhoods at around 7:40 p.m.

When firefighters arrived they found that an automatic sprinkler system had extinguished a small fire inside the building, firefighters said. Residents were briefly evacuated.

No injuries were reported, firefighters said.

Firefighters from Holden and Boylston also responded to the call.
